Managing the performance of general managers and senior staff can be a time-consuming process, and Management Solutions can help facilitate ongoing performance reviews. We currently work with more than 70 councils conducting performance reviews, developing yearly objectives and KPIs and monitoring progress.

Setting clear performance objectives
We provide a comprehensive performance review document outlining the general manager’s key performance indicators and yearly objectives based on the council’s management plan. This is used to measure the performance in their new or established role. A similar type of document is used to assess senior staff performance. We also prepare and record performance reports that establish a new performance agreement for the next 12 months or set up individual performance agreements.
Reviewing and monitoring
A key part of our performance management service is the review process that ensures general managers and senior staff meet their objectives. We facilitate six-monthly monitoring sessions and annual reviews that include the council, general manager, and senior teams.
This ensures councils meet the contractual obligations of their staff.

Coaching and team development
One of the key features of our performance management service is facilitating coaching and mentoring to ensure effective relationships are maintained, and core objectives are achieved. We can help councils with relationship building and, where required, mediation.
